Most Common frauds and scams
Please always use common sense when arranging your transactions for your property. Some of the most common frauds and scams are:
1) Cashier's check is offered for deposit/rent.
2) Value of cashier's check exceeds the actual price - renter asks you to wire/send the balance back.
3) Banks will cash the fake cashier's check, release the funds to your account, and then hold you responsible when the cheque is later determined to be fake.

I am glad to tell you that we have concluded payment with the delegates. However, a cashier check of $5,800 was earlier made out by the Christian organization, for a hotel whose services were not up to the standard of what your hotel is offering to us now. Which was meant for the accommodation, provision for car hiring and other necessary arrangement .
After much delibration , they have instructed that I send you the cashier check , which will cover the cost of the 5 persons for the seven(7) nights and all other arrangements that will makes this stay comfortable..
PAYMENT STATUS FOR THE SEVEN NIGHTS; $400 X 7NIGHTS= $2,800 USD
Attn; When you received the cashier check of ($5,800 usd) you are required to deduct the rent for the nights($2,800 usd) and send the balance $3,000 usd via moenygram international money transfer to the car hiring company whose information will forwarded to you as soon as possible
Note: The four man committee is making arrangement with some of the car hire AGENTS as soon as they are ready with one they will forward to me all his or her information.

This is the same scam but for an automobile. Carey_automails@yahoo.com
The exact same concept with sending the check and wanting me to wire the money back, I became suspicious when I asked to speak with the client in question and was denied. I was told that the check had to be written to me for more than the amount because the bank would only write one check. I haven't recieved teh check as this time, but I think the individual has picked up on the fact that I am on to them.

Well done on a nice blog Admin. I was searching for information on Hernando County Florida real estate and came across your post Most Common frauds and scams - not quite what I was looking for related to Hernando County Florida real estate but very interesting all the same!
Well, it's a new year - in fact it's almost the Chinese New Year. I'm still putting together the latest property portfolios for Hernando County, Florida. This year the budget allows us to purchase a few more nice looking lots on the waterfront - great investment! But we're still juggling the numbers to come up with a sensible forecast - what with the Katrina aftermath and all. Hopefully the coming year will see a bit more stability in the real estate market, particularly here in Florida.
